My daahlings-dears, it's all about Florida tomorrow, for the 30th annual renewal of the St Catherine High School Reunion for those students who graduated in 1979.
And luvs, it promises to be a fabulous event as the much-anticipated event is the only buzz, as former classmates are burning up Facebook, Twitter and email. And with the word from at least three continents is that past students from the diaspora are set to descend upon Fort Lauderdale, Florida, y'all know we are talking continental fabness here!
Well dears, it does get better as the buzz is Sister Mary Paschal, the distinguished and much-loved past principal of the institution is heading for Fort Lauderdale. She is being touted as the surprise guest of honour for the occasion. It gets under way at 7 p.m. at the Hollywood Rotary Club, at 2349 Taylor Street, in Hollywood, Florida.
The spirit among the past students is high as among the ranks of distinguished Jamaicans who attended the prestigious institution are Education Minister Andrew Holness; former Mayor of Greenwich - London, England, Vicky Moss; and Dr Jennifer Yee-Sing, principal lecturer at UTech. Dears, it promises to be a smasheroni!
Love is definitely in the air as the fab Marsha Wilson is now betrothed, beau Christopher Maxwell popped the question just before the holiday weekend and with her saying yes, it's now only the matter of setting time, date and place!
Mon congrats, my dears and all the very best.
It was a warm and intimate do in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, when Dr Matthew Barker and his wife, Rebecca, daughter of Felicity Crosswell-Brandt, held the christening and reception for first born daughter, Beatrice Crosswell Barker, born on June 30. It was a family affair and fabulously so, with grandparents Dr Jack Barker and his wife, Linda, along with Nicola Crosswell-Mair visiting from Jamaica, being numbered among the short list of relatives on hand for the joyous occasion.
