Bolivia ended Brazil's 11-game winning streak yesterday with a 2-1 World Cup qualifying victory at high altitude.

Edgar Olivares headed home a corner in the 10th minute and Marcelo Martins doubled the hosts' advantage at the Hernando Siles Stadium in the 30th by curling a free kick over the defensive wall beyond flat-footed goalkeeper Julio Cesar.

Brazil had its chances before finally getting on the scoreboard in the 70th minute when Maicon intercepted a sloppy Bolivia set play deep in Brazilian territory to spark a fast break that Nilmar capped with a headed goal.

T&T ready

BANGALORE, India (CMC):

Trinidad and Tobago (T&T) skipper Daren Ganga will lead his eager Caribbean side into their first Champions League Twenty20 assignment today against English county Somerset at the Chinnaswamy Cricket Stadium.

The T&T players were buoyant during yesterday's training session at the match venue, and team captain Daren Ganga is talking tough ahead of their campaign at the US$6 million tournament.

"We need to win both games as we look ahead, and we are confident we can pull it off starting Monday," Ganga said.

Daredevils win

DELHI, India (CMC):

On the back of terrific half-centuries by Virender Sehwag and Dinesh Karthik, efficient Delhi Daredevils easily beat Wayamba by 50 runs in their Champions League Twenty20 Group D match at Feroz Shah Kotla Stadium yesterday.

Batting first, the Daredevils scored 170 for five off their 50 overs and restricted the Sri Lankan club side to 120 for seven off their allotted overs. Man of the match Sehwag set the tone by blasting 66 off 42 balls with 10 fours and one six at the top of the Daredevils' innings and Karthik, batting at No. 4, smashed 61 off 41 balls with five fours and three sixes.

Maragh scores

LEXINGTON, Kentucky (CMC):

Jamaican jockey Rajiv Maragh completed a handsome added-money weekend double when he piloted the five-year-old mare Diamondrella to victory the First Lady Stakes at Keeneland on Saturday afternoon.

Diamondrella, a 5-to-2 second favourite, won the US$400,000 one-mile event on turf by three-quarters of a length just 24 hours after Maragh had won Friday's Darley Alcibiades Stakes. Trained by Angel Penna, Diamondrella clocked one minute, 38.66 seconds in victory.

Jamaican jockey Shaun Bridgmohan rode the 72-1 outsider Cure for Sale into fourth place, just two lengths behind the winner.

Henry double

MIAMI GARDENS, Florida (CMC):

Jamaican jockey Wesley Henry produced contrasting rides to post an impressive double at Calder on Friday evening. The experienced reinsman captured race two with an excellent come-from-behind ride aboard the favourite Dance for Zack before returning to the winners' enclosure with Purr Din Alice in race three, following a pillar-to-post ride.

Henry is now tied for fifth on 48 wins with teenager Luis Saez, in the jockeys' standings dominated by runaway leader Manoel Cruz on 162.
