My fabulous team

I don't know where to begin. I am blessed to be leading such a talented team and they know it. When we sat down to discuss our 25th anniversary feature, the idea of us telling all about each other was unanimously agreed upon. So here is how I see them.

Sacha Walters sits right next to me and I have never told her this, but she reminds me of one of the three special lights in my life who happen to be my god-children. Calm, sweet and serene, soft-spoken and diligent. Never complains, speaks her truth quietly. I sometimes wonder how she puts up with my frequent bouts of anger and work-related frustrations (not to mention swearing). She also sleeps through every road trip.

Nashauna Drummond is my right hand, memory and organiser. We come from the same part of the island, so we have a lot of pleasant country memories in common. She is a very hard worker and someone I can count on. Did you all know that she is excellent at cross-stitch?

Keisha Shakespeare-Blackmore is from the parish of my birth and I can always depend on her to surprise me with a typical saying from the people of Clarendon. She is always ready with great ideas, ways to present them and she delves thoroughly into the juicier topics. She relishes the assignments that takes her on the road. And she sings like an angel.

Peculiar eating habits

Latoya Grindley is one of my many 'daughters' and if ever there was a willing and reliable young lady, this is she. We often tease her about her peculiar eating habits, love of Red Bull and super high heels. She is soft-spoken but always ready to spar verbally with Nashauna and she can't live without her lipgloss.

Daviot Kelly is a study in contrasts. This minute he's upbeat and very humorous, the next, all hell breaks loose if something/someone ticks him off. Seriously though, he has come a long way and I know that deep down he's just a loveable, cuddly teddy bear. He's very well-read, smart and witty and I look forward every week to his take on the issues. Don't get this moody, Manchester United fan mad!
