I support and agree with Mr A.J. Nicholson on the notion of us having our own final court of appeal. What troubles me most is the fact that some of the more influential figures in our society might not be completely honest and may be able to dictate who sits on the bench. We cannot afford one justice for the 'haves' and another for the 'have nots'.
We should not forget that our own security personnel let us down repeatedly (information given get back to criminals). Yet, the justice that we have does nothing about it, at least in the eyes of us the common people.
With England as our final destination in this endeavour, the ruling of those justices would more likely be accepted as being fair.
I am in no way, shape or form implying that we are not intellectually capable, but let us not forget the reality of where we live and how we are being perceived from the outside.
If with simple affairs we fumble, how then should we be trusting of us administering our own final justice?
I am, etc.,
F. Patrick
