The best way to spend an evening is with good friends and great food and that was the case at the launch of the fifth Gleaner-sponsored Restaurant Week. The mansion at Devon House on Waterloo Road, was the venue for hosting yet another great reception, as it was known for its great events in the good old days.
arrived in style
Guests arrived in style, shuttled from the car park to the red carpet entrance by high-end transport courtesy of second-tier sponsor, Stewart's Automotive Group. On the red carpet they were greeted by the lady of the night, SSCO's Stephanie Scott, who was busier than a bee.
In her short address, Scott reiterated the concept behind Restaurant Week, getting the best for less, and celebrated the addition of Montego Bay and Ocho Rios to the calendar event. This year the number of restaurants has increased to a record 45 in an economy where everything seems to be contracting. With a 30 per cent discount at all participating restaurants, it was a great way to have great food on a tight budget.
Sponsors, representatives of participating restaurants and committed patrons of Restaurant Week made the occasion a lavish event under a starless night as they sipped a variety of drinks provided by first-tier sponsors Tru-Juice, Rum Bar Rum, True Tea and CalicoJack and hors d'oeuvres by Suzanne Couch. Mark the date, November 7 to 14, for this year's Restaurant Week.
