Francis steers St GC past Charlie Smith

Former Ardenne High forward, Jhuvon Francis, scored twice to lead defending champions St Geroge's College to a 3-1 win over Charlie Smith Comprehensive High in their top-of-the-table Group F clash in the urban area ISSA/Pepsi/Digicel Manning Cup schoolboy football competition yesterday.

Francis, who made the switch from Ardenne Road to St George's sixth form at the start of the season, netted in the 71st and 78th minutes.

Charlie Smith led 1-0 in the seventh minute via a Kemar Brown goal.

Marvin Morgan had earlier erased Charlie Smith's lead with a goal in the 20th minute, while Javoni Simms missed from the penalty spot for Charlie Smith in the 36th minute.
