Trench Town hold Excelsior
Ryon Jones, Gleaner Writer

Excelsior and Trench Town battled to a 0-0 draw in their Group C ISSA/Pepsi/Digicel Manning Cup fixture at the Tony Spaulding Sports Complex yesterday.

Excelsior High's two-goal hero from the first game, Nico Brett, did not come off the bench until the 31st minute, as he was being rested by the coach, Lebert Halliman.

"It is a very long season with matches very close together. That is why we brought him from off the bench," said Halliman.

Powerful shot

Brett, however, made his presence felt in the second half as he accounted for most of his team's chances. In the 55th minute he made a solo dribble, beating two players before unleashing a powerful shot but the Trench Town custodian had his near post covered.
