Bruce James, president of the MVP Track & Field Club, has hinted that the group's top athletes could miss next year's Commonwealth Games.
Glen Mills, coach of World and Olympics triple gold medallist Usain Bolt, also believes the timing of the Games poses a serious challenge.
The 2010 Commonwealth Games is scheduled for New Delhi, India, over 11 days, October 3-14, a time when athletes would normally resume preseason training.
James said his group supports the Common-wealth Games because "we participated very actively in 2006 and we would love to support all the Commonwealth Games." The MVP president, however, said the timing of the 2010 Commonwealth Games in India was "not so good".
Mills, Jamaica's head coach to the recent World Championships in Berlin, Germany, added his voice by saying: "I am sure we would like to dominate the Commonwealth Games ... however, there are some challenges.
"The meet is in October and it is going to prove a significant challenge to the preparation and participation of many of the top athletes ... we just have to wait and see how this thing develops before we can make plans as to who will go."
Fraser, winner of the Olympic and World Championships 100m, on her arrival home on Wednesday also hinted that she may not attend the Games.
"I am not sure if I am going to the Commonwealth Games ... mainly because of school. That's why I might not be going," she said.
