Rivoli United Football Coach Bradley Stewart said that his team has the right blend of players to figure prominently in the Digicel Premier League competition.
"We have the likes of Devon Hodges, who is yet to hit top gear, Kirk Ramsay, Valentine Gardener and the Planter brothers who are set to return. These are all potential match winners while former national player Garfield Reid is set to return to the line-up.
"We are ready, '' said Stewart after his team's 0-0 draw with former champions Boys' Town on Wednesday.
The coach said the team has lifted its game with the injection of Ramsay who brought pace to the play and that he complemented Hodges in the forward line.
A physical game was what spectators saw at the Spanish Town Prison Oval with referee Valdin Legister issuing seven yellow cards and one red that led to the ejection of Boys' Town's Daemon Benjamin.
Near misses
Several shouts of 'goal' were short-lived as there were a lot of near misses and Philmore Crumbie made an outstanding save from a Kirk Ramsay 18-yard scorcher.
Robert Scott, Xavier Virgo, Shawn McKoy, Anthony Bennett and Fabian Watkins played well for Boys' Town but they all failed to find the back of the net due to faulty finishing.
For the Rivoli team, Ramsay, Valentine Gardener, Omar Parker and Kemar Brown made several raids on their opponents' goal area but they too failed to score as main main marksman Hodges was closely marked by Carlos Wright.
Boys' Town coach Andrew Price said, that he was proud of the resilience his team showed, playing with 10 men. "I am pleased with the effort. However, we need to score as we need to win matches,'' Price said.
