Hayles unhappy with trio of drawn games

Harbour View's coach, Donovan Hayles, expressed great disappointment on Wednesday after his team drew their third third Digicel Premier League match in a row.

"I am very disappointed, we have given up two home games and that is not good for us and we have to dig deep. We got chances that we could have won the game. We will definitely be working on our finishing and, of course, defensively we have to stop giving up goals, we have to stand stronger," Hayles said after his team drew 1-1 with St Georges at the Harbour View Mini Stadium.

The St Georges coach, Braxton Hyre, was naturally in better spirits.

"Today, I think both teams played well, it was really a hard-fought game but we are happy for the point on the road. Harbour View really came for this three points but our team showed character, we came from one goal down and I am happy for the result. The objective is to win the competition and if we don't ... we want to at least finish in the top six," Braxton said.

Harbour View went ahead in the 35th minute through a wonderful goal from John-Ross Edwards after the home team had knitted together five passes in the St Georges box.

The home team had countless opportunities to increase its lead. The best came on the stroke of half-time when Lovel Palmer had a glorious opportunity to score but opted to pass and the chance was quickly stifled out by the St Georges defence.

Yellow cards

The second half saw St Georges step up their physical play; this resulted in them being the recipients of four yellow cards to go with the one Damion Harwood received in the first half for diving. Harwood, however, turned out to be St Georges' hero as his 57th-minute header was enough to earn his team a share of the points.

The forward has a target for this season.

"This season, I would like to score as many goals as possible, I have a target of 26 (goals) for this season. We have a pretty good squad this season, where we can compete for the title. Coming to Harbour View and playing to a 1-1 all draw, gives us the confidence to go up top and win this Premier League," Harwood said.
