August birthdays

Happy birthday wishes to the fabulously lovely Donna Marchese-Kross of Hagerstown MD and north coast habitué who celebrates her birthday tomorrow.

Come Monday, August 10, the fab heiresses Muna Issa and her identical twin, Zein Issa Nakash, will be celebrating their birthday, but with differing commitments on differing side of the globe. It will only be the second time in the twins' life that they will not be seeing in their birthdays together.

Also celebrating this Monday are Richard Francis in Montego Bay, while Gordon Webster will be partying in the nation's capital.

The leggy Josephine McGann will celebrate her special day on the 12th.

On the 13th, the charming June South Robinson, who is readying herself to return to London, and the lovely Mrs Tracy-Ann Robbins will both celebrate their birthday in different places and different styles as June South Robinson is in a reflective mood and will see her birthday in, in London; while the vivacious Mrs Robbins will be seeing her special day in Montego Bay!

Independence Celebrations

Then my daahlings, it's that time of the year again - Jamaica's Independence commemoration and celebrations with everybody who's anybody all set to vacate the nation's capital and head out of town for the parties!

Dears, for members of the ruling elite and upper echelons of snob-society, the preferred destination this weekend is definitely Port Antonio with Negril being the destination of choice for the young at heart. Negril is all set to rock like everybody's business with both Red Stripe Dream Weekend and the Appleton Temptation Island - not only planning to outparty and outpromote each other this weekend, they promise to make normally hot Negril some 10 times hotter and then some with a host of non-stop parties and fab events that have the world and his wife all heading for the Caribbean's best stretch of beaches and, honeys, it promises to be all that and then some!

Montego Bay

Meanwhile, in Montego Bay, promoters of the Clear Concept Group will reintroduce Montego Bay, particularly the 'elegant corridor' and elegant resorts, and amenities in the tourism Mecca, to those with that discerning sense of style, to the beauty and joy that is the new Montego Bay!

Dears, the following text, says is all and then some: "You think about Rose Hall, Montego Bay, and immediately the anticipation of returning to some place magical rushes through your arteries with memories of luxury, relaxation and lavishness, the nostalgia of beautiful historic sites, great beaches and unmatched concierge service. This class and elegance that is the signature of the Rose Hall elegant corridor resort area will be the main attraction of 'The Weekend' - an event that promises to excel the existing standards of luxury for the benefit of a discerning and select group of guests.

For one very special weekend from August 6-9, the Rose Hall elegant corridor, beloved by A-list vacationers, will be enhanced by the staging of the event series 'The Weekend' produced by the Clear Concept GGI Group that promises to excel the existing standards of classy elegance. The GGI Group has teamed up with the Rose Hall Estate and its branded Iberostar resort to offer guests all the luxury possible as the main feature of The Weekend.

The moment you arrive in Montego Bay, you'll know you have arrived. Floating on the island is a fragrant aroma of cinnamon, nutmeg, frangipani and begonia beckoning you to relax and unwind. Lush emerald hills give way to pristine white beaches, which in turn surrender to the dazzling aquamarine of the Caribbean Sea and with the melodic sound of the nearby surf, your worries will miraculously begin to disappear.

The Weekend programme of activities begins with Friday night jazz 'The Independence Edition', exposing young musical talents while showcasing accomplished acts that will be celebrating Independence on August 7 in the Iberostar suite theatre that provides the perfect setting for this refreshing concept. Another feature is the Luna Lounge at the Rose Hall Great House designed to be Jamaica's ultimate high end luxury nightclub, providing a sophisticated yet comfortable environment in which to showcase the most sought after entertainers as well as the talents of culinary gurus on the island, Iberostar hotels and from across the globe.

The Vertigo All White Beach Party promises to be unlike any other beach event of its kind on the planet and will transcend the ordinary. Celebrity chef Oji Jaja will preside over a setting that's one part friendly beach barbecue and two parts South Beach glam that will capitalise on the talents of some of the island's greatest grilling gurus and take advantage of a breathtaking oceanside venue. Perfectly seared meats and seafood compliments of Ashebre will be washed down with the beverages nearly everyone agrees goes best with luxury: Moet & Chandon champagne and a selection of fine wines.

All these activities will take place on the Rose Hall elegant corridor the weekend will not only offer the best-entertainment package, but the best of luxury lifestyle combining championship golf courses, five-star spa, great white sand beach, the infinity pools at the Iberostar and shopping trips to exclusive resort boutiques".

Now dears, just where would y'all rather be!

Whatever your choice this weekend, from Port Antonio to Negril, Jamaica is definitely kicking. Dears, are you drooling yet! Ok then, let the partying begin!
