Recently, I had the occasion to visit the Inland Revenue Depar-tment at Constant Spring Road. During my visit, on two occasions I came across artwork printed on a calendar advertising Kensales Hardware. The calendar was innocently and conspicuously placed, but as a religious person I found it very offensive because of what the picture represented. The picture depicted a Caucasian male with an open red heart emitting an illustration of light coming from it. In my opinion, this was another false religious symbol attempting to perpetuate a false concept of a white Jesus Christ, as has been done in the movies and other print and advertising media for centuries.
Not for public display
Now, it is my contention that this kind of false symbol should not be displayed in the public domain, especially in our government offices or institutions. It should be restricted to someone's private domain. I am, therefore, requesting that this factious symbol be removed from the Inland Revenue Department and other public offices.
To deliberately and continually try to indoctrinate our children and the nation's people with this LIE that Jesus Christ was a Caucasian male is outrageous in this year of our Lord 2009. The scriptures contradict this. The man was born in Bethlehem of Judea, just 5.5 miles outside the city of Jerusalem, in the land of the Palestinians, not some place in Europe or Rome, Italy.
