The athletes will bid to represent Jamaica at the senior CAC Championships in Cuba from July 3-5; the Caribbean Games in Trinidad and Tobago from July 13-18; and the World Championships in Berlin, Germany, from August 15-23.
"The quality of the programme and the product is good," Watt said Ludlow Watts, chairman of the Organising Committee, at a press conference at the Hilton Kingston hotel yesterday.
"We know that there are 20 Jamaicans who are ranked in the top 20 in the world. We will have a number of Olympic medallists and a number of athletes who are challenging to take over from their heroes in the past," he added. More than 31 events will be on the programme that will run from 4-8 p.m. each day. On the opening day, there will be the heats of the 400 metres, 400m hurdles, 100m and 800m.
The second day will be highlighted by the semi-finals and finals of the 100m and the 400m, while the 200m finals, sprint hurdles finals and 400m finals will take place on the final day.
