Graduation policy - a waste of time
The Editor, Sir:

I believe if private citizens choose to spend money and time on graduation gowns and balls, it is their decision and they should be allowed to exercise those decisions. The PM's desire to develop a graduation policy is a grand waste of time.

Every year, Budget presentation after budget presentation indicate a worsening economic situation, yet following each such presentation are expensive cocktail parties, usually paid by taxpayers, to celebrate failure.

The prime minister, rather than casting his gaze on graduations in basic schools, should hold his minister and ministry officials accountable to fixing the myriad of problems we have in education.

I am, etc.,
