Something extra

Upon their return to the island next Monday, it will be with the titles Sir and Lady. But actually, Governor General Dr Patrick Allen and his wife, Mrs Patricia Allen, could have used the titles officially since the designation was gazetted by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II in mid-May. The governor general will be knighted at noon on Friday at a ceremony at Buckingham Palace, London, and will be hosted at a reception at the British High Commission immediately afterwards. They left the island for London via New York yesterday. - Contributed

It's a girl for Finance Minister Audley Shaw and she's named after his favourite town in Jamaica! The GG and the very stylish Mrs Allen are off to meet the Queen and the island continues to buzz with activity.
