Amateur boxing returns to Ken's Wildflower, the popular Portmore venue, tonight, with a seven-bout card, starting at 8 p.m. This is the third in the Burger King Amateur Boxing Series this year and boxers vying for places on the team to the Caribbean Games in Trinidad and Tobago in July, will be in action.
The main attractions will be the welterweight contest between Sakima Mullings from Bruisin Gym and Ricardo Brown of the Jamaica Defence Force (JDF); and the rubber match between JDF super heavyweight Andre Reid and Bruisin Gym's Jamaro Nooks.
huge upset
Mullings, who returned to Jamaica recently after living in the United States for some time, has been an exciting addition to the boxing pool. Recently, he created a huge upset when he scored an exciting victory over reigning champion Rikardo Smith. He will now be going up against Brown, who is the No.2 welterweight, and his trainer, Carl Grant, is confident that he will come out the victor once more.
